My sidebar is littered with photos and links. Ever wanted to add your own photos to your sidebar in Typepad? Even better, with links? Here's how to do it:
1)Upload your photo in Contol Panel>Files. Choose your file and click upload. Make sure it's there and then click on Filename of the photo. This will open a new page that includes that direct link to your photo. Keep this window open for now.
2)Make a new TypeList at TypeList>Create a new TypeList (on the top right). The type should be "Links." Name it whatever you want, but if you don't want to include a title add this line of code: <!--Name-->. Obviously, "Name" is a filler so you can differentiate each TypeList from each other, if you need to edit the code for whatever reason. You can change "Name" to whatever makes sense for your photo.
3)For the Title, add this code: <img src="YOUR LINK HERE" />. Switch "YOUR LINK HERE" with the URL from the photo you opened before in the other window. This is basically telling it to display whatever image is found on that URL.
4)If you want people to click on the photo onto another link (which you probably do), go back to the TypeList and put whatever URL you want people to go to in the "URL" text box. Save it and publish it to your blog. You can change the order of your TypeList in Weblogs>Design>Content. You're done!
Step One: Uploading your photo.
Step Two: Creating a new TypeList.
Steps Three and Four: Adding in the links and code.
