This is my first post and I saw something cool on Prototype This (a show on Discovery Channel) that I wanted to share with everyone. They created virtual scuba diving machines. In the near future, we will be able to purchase a projection dome for our pools and send out ROVs(Remotely Operated Vehicles) to other bodies of water so that you can see exactly what the ROV sees to make it feel like you are scuba diving.
A projection dome is put under water and you use a projector with a curved lens so that the image would take the shape of a dome while your ROV is out in the ocean. You would be wearing a scuba-diving suit so that you could breath under water and so it gives the virtual diving more life. You would have a z-scooter which is what divers use to navigate them underwater except this one would not be use to move you, but instead as a joystick to control the ROV.
